Vehicle Description You are looking at my 1983 Porsche 928 S.
The car is a rare and desirable five-speed manual transmission model.
The car runs and drives well and pulls strong.
As you know, 928's are finally getting the recognition they deserve, and prices are on the rise.
Porsche only produced 3,500 of these cars per year, making it very rare.
This 928 S is painted in Bronze Metallic with a very rare and expensive optiona FULL burgundy leather interior.
This option was over $3,000 as an upgrade in 1983! This includes the seats obviously, door panels, dash, center console, rear quarters, and even the headliner! The leather smells wonderful when you open the door, and the feel of leather everywhere is a special touch.
The stitching around the various surfaces is just a beautiful thing! The dash has light checking up by the windshield, but no keep in mind that it's 30 years old and does have some cracks where the sun hit it most.
The Bronze Metallic paint job is an older respray that looks good but does have some wear and a few minor blemishes around the car.
It would look fantastic with a new paint job, but it is presentable as is.
The clutch feels good, and the car shifts crisply thru the gears.
Synchros feel/sound good.
Brakes are strong.
Tires are good.
The Porsche chrome rims do have some pitting and peeling but look good from a few feet away.
I've bought some original style rims that look beautiful but haven't put them on.
The body is straight and there is no evidence the car was ever in any accident.
A nice thing about the '83 models is the engines are non-interference, meaning if the timing belt breaks, you simply replace it.
You are not looking at catastrophic damage to the valve train like later model years.
Mechanically the car is sound.
Everything works such as the power door locks, windows, seats, sunroof, etc.
There are some blemishes in the paint, but from a few feet away it looks very good.
I get compliments all the time.
These are great investments as they are only going up in value! They are built like bank vaults and do not disappoint in performance.
As any 30 year old car it's going to have it quirks, nothing that can't be repaired or replaced.
